Wicked Cool for Kids-STEAM Programs

For students entering grades K-5

Since 2007, Wicked Cool for Kids has provided amazing kids’ summer programs that blend STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) education goals with the kind of fun that kids need on summer break. We champion a great mix of focused lessons and structured play that maintain academic integrity within a creative environment.

DINOS VS. ROBOTS August 19-23, 2019
Dinosaurs or Robots? Which is your favorite? Join us for this Dynos and Robots only battle to see which one wins out! Start with robots to communicate in code, learn about circuits and electricity then design your own ultimate working robot to take home. Next, we will look back to the mighty Mesozoic era and the dinosaurs who ruled the earth. Go back in time to inspect real fossils and find out how dinos got their name.

Is there a Doctor in the house? Follow the progress of your own "patient" all week as we journey into the inner workings of the human body. Keep medical charts and become an anatomy specialist while learning the body systems. Create a "slime" cell, big bones, moving joints and 3-D eyeballs.

A perennial favorite returns! Build and launch our favorite solid fuel rocket, the customizable E2X: perfect for the aerospace engineer! Keep a Commanders Log as you investigate the solar system, design a satellite, and build a space base for an astronaut.

Daily Schedule:
9:00-9:15 Get in the Groove: games and crafts promoting social interaction.

Pre-Registration Required.
Class begins with stretching and exercise, followed by learning proper techniques & sparring practice. Different games are carefully designed to encourage skill development without monotony.
ATTIRE/MATERIALS-- A gi, (karate robe), is not required for class, gis are available for sale at class.

Baby ballerinas with Miss Amy are 4 week sessions for 2-3 year old children and their caregivers. Caregivers have fun and engaging through dance, playful physical contact, rhythms and songs!
Designed to inspire movement through observation, dance and creative exploration, these classes focus on child development through shared and attuned quality time.
Attire: Leotard, tights and ballet slippers. (Tutus optional)

Dance Along is an early childhood movement program in MA for children ages 16 months to 3.5 years and the grownups who care for them. These age-appropriate dance classes offer active toddlers and preschoolers an outlet to dance, play and explore movement in a fun and engaging atmosphere while building confidence to participate in a group setting. Utilizing movement props, parachute play, music, and their imagination, children will develop dance and music skills in a cheerful, nurturing environment while bonding with the adults they love. Yoga is an excellent workout for all levels and a must for athletes and anyone who wants to increase their level of fitness. This is a fusion class that incorporates high intensity cardio moves and core work with a flow based yoga class. Release Mind/body-Danielle Delmonico

Release happens when the body and the mind meet to overcome muscle fatigue and your mental and physical strength prevails. Release is an innovative mind body immersion class that focuses on intense cardio, plyometric and alignment while releasing the stagnant toxins through breath work. Release will challenge your body, and your body will challenge your mind, leading you to mental and physical liberation.  You’ll jump, squat, lunge, hop, pushup, sweat and breath your way to a clear mind and a toned body. After Release both your body and mind will feel rejuvenated as well as sculpted.

Since receiving her BFA in Contemporary Dance Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Lauren has performed in various modern companies, taught children of all ages, and obtained Zumba and Barre fitness certifications.

Tai chi, also called tai chi chuan, is a non-competitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. Rising Stars!-Youth Musical Theater Class -Ages 7-10

Week long 1/2 day program. August 5-9
This week class is designed for your rising stars!  Each week students will work on their singing, dancing, and acting skills through creative theater games, group vocal work, and basic choreography. This is the perfect outlet for the creative child who is always performing!  The final class will be open for parents to observe what the actors have been working on throughout the session. Erin Henry-Verina, a professional New York City actress, singer, and owner of Stage Door Studio, will lead this 10 week class.
