Rosemary Duchesneau, Director of Finance
When I moved to Hingham in 1996 with my husband and three young girls, I learned about the Hingham Community Center (HCC) and quickly enrolled our daughters in HCC programs. In 2007, after more than 10 years of patronizing HCC programs and events, I joined the staff and am now responsible for all finance and accounting functions. I still make it a priority to find time to participate in events and classes at HCC. In recent years, I have enjoyed art classes, paint parties, pilates and country line dancing classes. I have met local brewers and sampled craft beer with friends and neighbors, and visited the HCC with my husband for local traditions including the annual Arts Walk and Christmas in the Square. I love working at HCC, being part of the downtown Hingham community, and contributing to its mission to serve our community.
Donna M. Driscoll, Director of Development
For 30 years I have lived in Hingham where I raised three sons who all were enrolled in various programs at HCC. Today, my husband and I continue to frequent many HCC programs and functions. Having worked in development at the South Shore Hospital and the Boston Foundation for many years, I jumped at the opportunity to become the Director of Development for the Hingham Community Center in 2017. I am passionate about HCC’s mission to enrich the community and preserve the beautiful Ensign Thaxter House. With my colleagues, I look forward to making a lasting impact on our wonderful town by ensuring HCC continues to thrive and provide great programs and events for the residents of the South Shore.
Katie Daly, Director of Operations
My husband and I moved to Hingham in 2000 as we awaited the birth of our twins. By 2004 we had added two more children to our family. We were always looking for activities for our family and were lucky to find HCC. Our children have enjoyed numerous programs at HCC—dance, karate, art classes, gymnastics, and camps. HCC always has been a special place to gather and meet other families and children. I served on the HCC Board of Directors for eight years, and now am delighted to serve as the first Director of Operations for HCC. In this role, I am responsible for arranging and developing programs and classes that everyone in our community can enjoy. If you have, suggestions or requests on programs, please contact me with your ideas!
Tony Shiappa, Facility Manager
Tony joined the staff of HCC in 2003. He takes great pride in keeping the building and grounds in clean and safe operating condition, both during routine operations and weather emergencies. Tony ensures our classrooms and rental facilities are set up properly for the instructors running programs and for the organizations or patrons holding events. Tony is a great source of knowledge about the Hingham Community Center. If you have a question or need assistance outside of office hours, ask Tony!
